Wine Celebration a Hit!

The V Foundation for Cancer Research’s second annual Wine Celebration, which took place in the Napa Valley July 28 - 29, drew over 300 people and raised $650,000 for cancer research in quest for a cure.

The V Foundation, created by the legendary basketball coach Jimmy Valvano before his death from bone cancer in 1993, is headquartered in North Carolina and has raised more than $10 million for cancer research. Last year it awarded $50,000 to the QVH Foundation to underwrite research at Queen of the Valley Hospital.

Proceeds from this year’s Celebration will assist research at the Queen, Stanford University, and other area health-care facilities.
