Reaching Out to New Friends

The QVH Foundation's Board of Trustees is extending a warm welcome to new friends of the hospital who are giving to the Foundation for the first time. Members of the Board have been calling first-time donors to thank them for their gifts and welcome them to the Foundation "family."

"Making these calls has been much more of a pleasure than the chore I'd originally anticipated," says trustee Larry Lawrence. "For most of us, receiving an unsolicited call can be an irritating experience, so I began this task with some trepidation. It has, however, been a delight, and I've received very positive feedback from our new donors."

In addition, the donor listings in the back of Foundation Focus will now include a special section recognizing those who are donating to the Foundation for the first time.

"The Foundation depends on the hundreds of people who have made an ongoing commitment to support the hospital," says Foundation chief development officer Richard Green. "They are supremely important to us. By making an extra effort to welcome first-time givers, we're hoping to encourage them to become regular donors as well."
